- Accuses Opposition of conspiring to divide society on basis of caste, religion
Denouncing the opposition’s caste-based politics, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday alleged that some people were trying to divide society for their vested interests. Addressing a gathering in Gujarat’s Vadtal on the 200th anniversary of Shree Swaminarayan Temple, PM Modi emphasised that India needs to be united against its “national enemies” to make it a developed nation by 2047.
“There is a conspiracy going on to divide society on the basis of caste, religion, language, high and low, men and women, villages and cities. It is important that we understand the seriousness of this attempt by the national enemies, understand the crisis, and we all have to defeat such an act together,” PM Modi said.
